Independence Park

*INDIANA'S FIRST ALL-ACCESSIBLE PLAYGROUND AREA*

The Johnson County Park is extremely proud of Independence Park. Independence Park is located at 2100 Morgantown Road just north of Stones Crossing Road in White River Township. This 13.5 acre park boasts Indiana’s first all-accessible playground area for persons with disabilities. This park was developed and constructed in 2000 with the help of over 200 businesses, civic organizations, and individuals. The park’s location, across the road from two elementary schools, a middle school, and high school, is also perfect because it is centrally located in the township. Independence Park provides the only greenspace park in White River Township.

Since opening in September of 2000, Independence Park has hosted several thousand visitors. Many schools bring their students to enjoy the facilities, those who enjoy walking and jogging use our trails, and many people have walked their dogs in the park daily. We have listed the facilities and events that Independence Park has to offer. We hope you will come see our beautiful Independence Park.
